Konoba Knez – Traditional Dubrovnik Cuisine
For starters, Konoba Knez offers traditional dishes of the Dubrovnik region. There are four standard menu types featuring meat specialties cooked under sač, on the spit, and on the grill. In winter, an additional menu includes winter home-style dishes such as zelena menestra and Dubrovnik šporki makaruli. Each menu includes cold appetizers (homemade cured meats and several types of local cheese) and desserts (traditional homemade pastries). Reservations are required. The capacity is 70 seats including indoor space and outdoor terrace.
We organize all types of celebrations: birthdays, family gatherings, first communions, confirmations, christenings, weddings, meetings, or colleague get-togethers. Our target audience includes local residents of all ages and tourists visiting Dubrovnik and surroundings.
Konoba Knez opened in early 2018, located in the small coastal village of Pobrežje, 8 km from Dubrovnik. Historically, the locals worked mostly in agriculture and livestock. Tourism in Pobrežje began in the 1970s with one-day excursions from Dubrovnik featuring traditional dishes and the local dance “linđo.” Today, we preserve this authentic form of tourism and traditional cuisine.
The Knez family brings its long tradition in meat processing (since 1921) into the restaurant. In contrast to fast tourism and apartment growth trends, we aim to preserve the original natural beauty and historical heritage of PobreĹľje, offering visitors a taste of Dubrovnik history alongside quality gastronomy.
